COMMUNITY

Here at Kitty’s, our community is very important to us and we have chosen to support and sponsor some of our local teams!

CEANN CREIGE

Ceann Creige is Scotland’s only Hurling and Camogie club founded in April 2019. The club is a registered charity (SC049693).

Hurling is Ireland’s national sport, so when the opportunity came to sponsor Ceann Creige we jumped at the chance.

FANCY A PUCK AROUND?

Ceann Creige are always looking for new players. Our youth hurling is open to boys and girls aged 4-16. Whilst our adult teams are open to anyone, no previous experience is required!
Sessions are a fun and great way to meet some of our friendly members and challenge yourself to learn new skills.

Training details can be found here
They even hold their socials at the best Irish bar in Glasgow!
The kit is pretty savage if we do say so ourselves. Click here to support the team and get involved.

GLASGOW GAELS

Glasgow Gaels offer Gaelic Football for Mens, Ladies & Youth with several hundred members! You don’t need to look any further for Gaelic Football in Glasgow.
All sections of the club are thriving both on and off the pitch! There is a great social side to the club, with the annual dinner dance, various fundraising events and of course, many post-match pints drunk in Kitty’s.
The Glasgow Gaels are proud to be a family orientated club and in keeping with the ethos of the GAA, they have members from all backgrounds and from Scotland, Ireland and all parts of the world.
Players of all abilities are welcome at all levels as well as well as non-playing volunteers.

Eddie Sheehan is a singer and guitarist from County Tipperary, now living in Glasgow. Already loved by our Kitty’s family, Eddie has been performing across Europe, the UK and Ireland. He loves working with the audience to create something special, music coupled with fun, energy and emotion.
Two Irish lads living the musician dream beyond in Scotland. They always have the place bouncing with their high energy, class craic and maybe even a Taylor Swift cover…!
Front man of underground Perthshire based band, Parliamo, is a Kitty’s regular. Jack entertains the crowd solo as well as with his bandmate, Finn. He really takes our live music offering to the next level.
Sean is a Glasgow based singer/songwriter who has played in bars across Scotland, Ireland and Europe. A regular in Kitty’s, he changes up his song book according to the mood and the audience. Expect to hear everything from U2 to The Foo Fighters and even some Van Morrison & Depeche Mode.
A Kitty’s regular and known for his skills on the tin whistle. Catch him playing alongside Ciaran Cooney, Conor Markey and Marty McBride across all three of our pubs!

By now, Ray is one of the most experienced musicians on the Edinburgh circuit.

Sometimes called ‘a hairy jukebox’, he’ll guide you through a night of folk, country, rock, pop and shameless cheese, delivered while armed with his guitar, a strong cup of Barry’s tea and an even stronger Cork accent.

David Duffy is Glasgow-born and bred, and he may be one of the newest musicians to the Kitty’s crew but don’t let that sway your view.

David can play an array of instruments, from the drums to bass, piano, harmonica, mandolin, banjo and lapsteel oh and let’s not forget that he has been singing and playing the acoustic guitar for 35 years…And if you ever need an autoharp tuned in the dark, a drunk David Duffy is yer man!

Kitty’s regulars and favourites, Papa Shandy & The Drams, are a trio founded in 2012.

Renowned for their unique style of folk/traditional music, you will hear lead vocals & guitar by Kieran Sinclair backed by Gavin on the banjo and Tracey on the fiddle.

Andy is one of our longest running resident musicians. With over 20 years worth of gigs under his belt, you could say he was an accomplished musician in his own right, with many playing styles in his repertoire. His passion, however, lies in traditional Scottish folk songs and music.
